Arrive in Munich, where you are met and transferred to your family-owned hotel in the heart of the city. Tonight, join fellow guests for a welcome dinner.

DAY 2
MUNICH | Discovering the City

This morning, meet your local expert guide and set out on a tour of Munich, visiting the majestic Frauenkirche Cathedral as well as the new Documentation Centre, which offers insight into Munich’s complex past. Stop for an authentic German lunch, then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 3
NEUSCHWANSTEIN | Alpine Splendor

Delve deeper as you travel overland into the Alpine region of Southern Bavaria, pausing at the Rococo-style Wieskirche. Tour King Ludwig’s fairy tale-like castle at Neuschwanstein, the inspiration for the castle in Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Continue to the village of Oberammergau, famed for its traditional woodcarvings as well as the Passion Play, performed since 1634 and taking place every ten years.

DAYS 4-6
MONDSEE, AUSTRIA | The Sound of Music

Travel to Ayinger, home to one of the over 600 breweries in Bavaria, to indulge in Culinary Connections. Tour a family-owned brewery, and partake in a beer tasting and traditional Bavarian lunch. Continue to a cheese factory, where you take a tour and sample its wares. Cross into Austria this afternoon and arrive at your historic hotel, set in a Benedictine abbey, in scenic Mondsee. The following day, an expert local guide introduces you to lovely Salzburg, setting for The Sound of Music. See Mozart’s birthplace, then make a Musical Connection at an exclusive violin concert at the nearby Salzburg Museum. The next day, travel to Berchtesgaden, site of Hitler’s mountaintop house, the Eagle’s Nest. Ascend by his custom elevator, built into the mountain. From atop, take in the views over Austria and Germany. This afternoon, drive through the scenic countryside of the Salzkammergut region, filled with sparkling lakes and quaint villages. Stop in St. Gilgen before returning to Mondsee.

DAY 7
ČESKÝ KRUMLOV, CZECH REPUBLIC | Radiant City

Travel to the town of Mauthausen, site of one of Austria’s most infamous concentration and labor camps. A guided tour lends insight into this poignant history. After lunch, continue into the Czech Republic and arrive at Český Krumlov, where you explore the city with a local guide. Visit the Marionette Museum before continuing to the Old Town and your boutique hotel, a former Jesuit dormitory brimming with archways and frescoes.

DAYS 8-9
PRAGUE | The Winding Lanes of Old Town

Skirt the Vltava River to beautiful Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. After lunch by the river, tour the city’s Old Town. Wander its winding cobblestoned lanes and into its Jewish Quarter, birthplace of Franz Kafka. See the Gothic Town Hall in Old Town Square, famous for its astronomical clock. Visit the Jewish Museum, which houses the largest collection of Judaica in Europe, along with the Jewish Cemetery. Check in to your sleek, new boutique hotel in the heart of the city. The following day, visit Prague’s Castle District and the stunning, Baroque Strahov Monastery, where you take a private tour of the ornate library. Tonight, join your Resident Tour Director for a farewell dinner to mark the end of a memorable journey.
