Demand for Small Group Travel Skyrockets

Abercrombie & Kent Unveils New Immersive Cultural Journeys for 2024 in Europe, South America and the Middle East

June 20, 2023

As travellers venture back out into the world, there is a growing desire to explore lesser-known destinations and forge authentic connections that challenge their understanding of the world. In response, Abercrombie & Kent has launched their most diverse portfolio in sixty years of small group travel, featuring new Luxury Small Group Journeys in Brazil and Scandinavia, as well as limited-edition Marco Polo Journeys in Colombia, the Azores & Madeira, Oman & the Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

“A growing number of our guests are seeking out more immersive experiences to expand their knowledge of different cultures through cuisine, art and architecture, even music. Their goal is to gain deeper insight into just one or two countries through understanding their shared history and cultural traditions,” explains Stefanie Schmudde, A&K Vice President of Product Development and Operations. “A&K’s Resident Tour Directors make that possible; they are your local connection -- part storyteller, part scholar, part expert organizer.”

A&K’s Luxury Small Group Journeys and limited-edition Marco Polo Journeys are filled with insider-access opportunities that broaden travellers’ horizons and create memorable moments when shared with a small group, averaging just 14 like-minded guests. Each journey is led by someone who has lived for decades, sometimes even their entire lives, in the destination, and who shares a unique understanding of daily life as well as the region’s culture, history and wildlife. The result is a journey that reveals the distinctive spirit of a place, connecting guests to the people, places and wildlife they encounter in a way they’ll never forget.
