Luxury Vacations in Lithuania
The adage about good things coming in small packages can certainly be applied to the three Baltic nations. There are clear similarities between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – one being the rich medieval heritage of their major cities, the other being their relatively compact sizes.
And yet, there are significant differences too – individual styles and stories that only become apparent with closer inspection. Lithuania will happily regale you with its tale – in the gorgeous neoclassical cathedral of its capital Vilnius; in the orange-tiled architectural whimsy of the second city, Kaunas, where a 14th-century castle stands firm. Then there is the third city, Klaipeda, a historically important port that clings to the Baltic Sea, acting as a photogenic gateway to both the narrow sandbar of the Curonian Spit and the fresh-water lagoon that wells behind it.
