Pure Amazon, an A&K Sanctuary
Chic boutique boat with Amazonian soul
Newly launched in summer 2025, Pure Amazon is a floating oasis in the wilderness of the Peruvian Amazon. Built to the highest standards and designed in harmony with its surroundings, this riverboat offers a level of luxury aboard an Amazon river cruise that is exceptional in this region of Peru. Renowned architect Adriana Granato of Studio Ibsen has combined Italian contemporary style with echoes of the local area in the Peruvian textiles, natural wood and stone, and a restrained palette of earth, sky, forest and water. The result is that Pure Amazon feels both refreshingly contemporary yet also completely rooted in its elemental surroundings.
The riverboat has just 12 spacious and beautifully designed suites and cabins, all with huge windows for sublime panoramic views. Up on the top deck are a spa pool and daybeds for maximum relaxation between excursions and nature viewing even when you’re not out among it. On the upper deck, the Veranda Lounge is an elegant space for enjoying cooling cocktails after a day exploring the steamy rainforest, with cream armchairs and sofas creating a convivial, clubby feel. Also on this deck is the map room, where interactive maps put a new perspective on your voyage; and two spotting scopes on the decks ensure that you never miss a wildlife sighting. Abstract art reflecting the artisanal heritage of Peru hangs on the walls of the restaurant, which serves exceptional local and international dishes, and the lounge on the same deck is filled with light and greenery, with pops of bright colors on the soft furnishings that call to mind the vibrant tropical birds that inhabit this famous rainforest. To experience the healing power of Amazonian ingredients, head to the wellness space with its spa treatment room for naturally charged face and body treatments, while the top-deck gym has a spin bike, weights and Pilates equipment – and the added bonus of floor-to-ceiling windows for a workout view unlike any other.
