Arrive Paris, France
Upon arrival in Paris, your Abercrombie & Kent Guardian Angel meets and transfers you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or begin exploring Paris.
Paris | The “City of Light”
Set out to see fabled Parisian sights, including the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysées and the Ile de la Cité, where you will visit the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral and the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle. This afternoon, visit the Louvre, with its stunning art collection spanning from antiquity to the mid-19th century, which includes the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. The next day, set out on a culinary walking tour of Paris, alongside a local restaurant critic. You may opt to visit a beloved boulangerie, where you learn about the French art of bread-baking from the master himself. Or, perhaps, meet a dedicated chocolatier, who joins you as you sample sweet treats.
Normandy | Stopping in Giverny
Meet your driver and privately transfer to Normandy. En route, visit Giverny, taking time to explore the house and gardens that inspired Monet. Then, in Rouen — a city rich in medieval buildings — visit the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral and see the giant Renaissance clock, Le Gros-Horloge. Check in to your hotel.
Normandy | D-Day Landings
Embark on a full-day tour of Normandy. Begin your day at Pointe du Hoc, where U.S. Rangers scaled the coastline. At Omaha Beach, examine sites from both the German and U.S. perspective. Hear about Operation Aquatint, a failed 1942 British Commando raid on the area, before paying a poignant visit to the U.S. Military Cemetery and Interpretation Center at Colleville-sur-Mer, the final resting place of over 9,300 U.S. soldiers.
Normandy | Picturesque Villages
Visit the village of Beuvron-en-Auge, among France’s prettiest, and the spectacular medieval town of Lisieux, its historic buildings and monuments remarkably undamaged during the bombing of World War II. See Sainte Thérèse Basilica. After lunch at leisure, continue your journey through the countryside to picturesque, portside Honfleur, stopping en route at a cider distillery in the Pays d’Auge for a Calvados tasting. Today, Honfleur is awash with galleries and renowned for its fish restaurants.
Versailles | Opulent Palace
Drive to Versailles, and meet your guide for a visit to the Palace of Versailles. Explore the State Apartments and see the amazing Hall of Mirrors. Look out onto the Water Parterre and see its beautiful, decorative gardens, which the king considered as important as the palace itself.
Transfer by private vehicle to the airport in Paris, where you board your homebound flight.
