Kathmandu | Historic Durbar Square

Today, enjoy a welcome briefing with your fellow travellers. Later, ride a rickshaw to Durbar Square and Taleju Temple. See the House of the Living Goddess (Kumari), explore the bazaar and old city, and visit the 1,500-year-old stupa of Swayambhunath. Return to your hotel for a welcome cocktail reception and dinner. Cap off your evening with a gripping firsthand account from a Mount Everest summiteer.

DAY 3
Kathmandu | Among the Soaring Peaks

Early this morning, enjoy an awe-inspiring flightseeing tour past Mount Everest, or opt to take a helicopter (at an additional cost) for an up-close experience of the mountain. After breakfast, set out to explore the medieval art and architecture of Bhaktapur and the towering Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath. Here, a local artisan reveals the religious significance of Thangka artwork. Continue to Kopan Monastery and Nunnery for a blessing and private meditation session.

DAY 4
Kathmandu / Chitwan National Park | Into The Wild

This morning, you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Bharatpur. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred (approximately one hour) to your luxury lodge in Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Settle in with time at leisure and an afternoon tea service. If time allows, set out on a thrilling Jeep safari in the park.

Chitwan National Park | Where Rhinos Roam

Rise early to track one-horned rhinos through the jungle with an expert naturalist, perhaps even stealing a rare glimpse of the elusive Bengal tiger. After lunch, float down the Rapti River, taking in beautiful views of the Himalayan foothills and spotting exotic species along the way. This evening, enjoy a Scenic Sundowner cocktail along the riverbank.

Chitwan National Park / Kathmandu / Lhasa, Tibet (China) | Gateway to Tibet

This morning you are transferred to the Bharatpur airport for your flight to Kathmandu, where you connect to your scenic flight to Lhasa, your gateway to Tibet, often referred to as the “Roof of the World.” Set at 12,000 feet, it is one of the highest cities in the world. Transfer to your hotel, relax and acclimatize.

Lhasa | Majestic Monasteries

After a leisurely breakfast, proceed to Drepung Monastery. A major pillar of the former theocratic state, this massive enclave once housed over 7,700 monks. Continue to Sera Monastery and listen in as monks engage in a spirited theological debate.

Lhasa | Footsteps of the Dalai Lama

Today, venture inside the towering walls of Potala Palace, former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Next, experience the spiritual heart of Tibet at the sacred Jokhang, a 1,300-year-old temple. Finally, glimpse an enduring hub of everyday life at Lhasa’s Barkhor Bazaar.

Lhasa / Katmandu, Nepal | Deep Spiritual Ties

This morning, you are met and transferred to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival and after having lunch, visit the highly revered Hindu temple of Pashupatinath. Continue to historic Patan, known as the city of arts and architecture, famous for its fine bronze, silver and copper works.

Today, you are transferred overland (approximately one hour) to your luxurious resort set in the lush foothills of Dhulikhel. En route, stop at the medieval art and architecture of Bhaktapur.

Dhulikhel | A Culinary Encounter

After breakfast, enjoy resort activities such as birdwatching, hiking, yoga, meditation, painting and pottery.
