St. Andrews | Scottish Spirits
Spend a day exploring the former royal burgh of St. Andrews. Ride Like a Local aboard a boat to Loch Leven Castle, where you walk in the footsteps of Mary, Queen of Scots. Tour Falkland Palace, country home of the Stuart royal family. Then, sample Scottish whisky during an Artisan Visit and distillery tour. Spend the evening at leisure.
Edinburgh | Regal Residences
Skirt coastal roads en route to Hopetoun House, where you take a private, guided tour. You may also sample produce grown on site at the estate’s café and pay a visit to its farm market. Then, explore the city of Edinburgh, visiting Edinburgh Castle. See the Royal Mile, the main thoroughfare in Old Town; the centrally located New Town neighborhood; and Holyrood Palace, the Queen’s official residence. Check in to your hotel. Later, gather with fellow guests for dinner. The next day, depart for Leith and visit the Royal Yacht Britannia, the former royal yacht of the British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, in service from 1954 to 1997.
Belfast, Northern Ireland | Discovering the ‘Titanic’
This morning, fly to Belfast for a close look at the moving history of this rapidly changing city. Take a self-guided tour at the interactive Titanic Museum, which features artifact-laden galleries and an ocean exploration exhibit. Next, tour Belfast with a local expert who shares insights into the turbulent history of Northern Ireland.
Dublin | Irish Whiskey
Transfer to Dublin’s Heuston station and board the luxurious Belmond Grand Hibernian train, partaking in Irish afternoon tea as the train makes its way through the lush countryside to Cork. After a visit to the historic Jameson distillery, rejoin the train for a leisurely dinner, followed by local entertainment in the observation car.
Cork | The Blarney Stone
Continue south to Blarney Castle, home to the legendary Blarney Stone. Disembark and privately tour the ruins and stunning grounds with morning tea in hand. Lunch is served as the train continues west toward Killarney on the shores of Lough Leane. A ride in a traditional jaunting car (pony and trap) takes you through the beautiful national park to scenic Ross Castle, where you set out on a boat trip around the islands of the lake. After a dinner on board, local musicians may inspire you to join in a ceili dance.
Galway | Choose Your Adventure
Today, the train heads north from Limerick Junction en route to Galway. Enjoy a lunch of local specialities in a lively restaurant, followed by a walking tour of the city. Or, opt to visit the Cliffs of Moher. Later, sit down to dinner aboard as you proceed toward Athlone.
Westport | A Country Estate
Begin the day over a leisurely brunch as the train makes its way north to Westport. On arrival, disembark to see breathtaking Ashford Castle in the heart of the wild Connemara region. Take a guided walk of the estate and try your hand at falconry. Relax during a scenic drive through County Mayo to rejoin the train for a last dinner aboard, followed by music.
Dublin | Exploring the Capital
Upon returning to Dublin, disembark and explore the city during a guided tour, visiting Kilmainham Gaol and Trinity College, which houses the Book of Kells. After time at leisure, rejoin fellow guests for an interactive Chef’s Table farewell dinner.
Transfer to the airport to board your homebound flight.
