RIO DE JANEIRO | ICONIC BEACHES & SUGARLOAF SUNSET

Begin with a leisurely cycling tour of Rio’s iconic beaches, including Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Pause at a local fruit stand to sample some exotic varieties you may not have encountered before. Later in the afternoon, ride by cable car to the peak of Sugar Loaf Mountain, where you toast the sunset and drink in the amazing views.

IGUAZU FALLS | POWERFUL CASCADES

Fly to Brasilia this morning. Later this evening, enjoy dinner at a local churrascaaria (barbecue) restaurant.

Day 1
ARRIVE CUIABÁ, BRAZIL

Upon arrival in Cuiabá, you are met and transferred to your hotel. The drive traverses the Transpantaneira, a scenic dirt road that transects 90 miles of the northern Pantanal. At the road’s terminus in the tiny fishing village of Porto Jofre, board a small skiff and continue up the Piquiri River to your lodge. After lunch, set out for a safari by skiff exploring the Pantanal, the largest continuous wetland on the planet. Return to the lodge for a Scenic Sundowner cocktail. After dinner, gain expert insight into the Pantanal’s caimans from the lodge’s resident naturalist.

Day 2
NORTH PANTANAL | LAND OF THE JAGUAR

NORTH PANTANAL | LOWLAND GAME DRIVE

This morning, embark on your final skiff excursion from the lodge, keeping a lookout for any remaining elusive species. Disembark back in Porto Jofre to continue your safari by land. Your game drive of the Transpantaneira traverses 50 miles of the Pantanal’s northern lowlands, concluding at your next lodge in Fazenda Santa Teresa. After lunch, encounter a family of nesting jabirus from the lodge’s 40-foot-tall observation tower.

Day 5
LOWLAND PANTANAL | A PARTING GLIMPSE

After breakfast, set out on a piranha fishing expedition along the Pixaim River, keeping an eye out for giant river otters. After lunch and a short rest at the lodge, transfer back to Cuiabá for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
