Today, you have a full day to explore the numerous wildlife-viewing opportunities the Okavango Delta has to offer. Set off on a thrilling, guided game drive in a customized 4x4 vehicle or a bush walk in the company of an armed, expert guide. Or, take to the water with a mokoro (dugout canoe) ride on the delta (availability varies by season).
Chobe National Park | Place of High View
After breakfast, fly to Chobe National Park. This game-rich region covers a wide diversity of landscapes, ranging from riverine forests to floodplains and periodic marshlands. Upon arrival, transfer to your accommodations. Chilwero means “place of high view” in the local Setswana language, and true to its name, Chobe Chilwero is positioned high above the Chobe River and offers unparalleled, panoramic views across the islands and floodplains, stretching as far as Namibia.
Chobe National Park | Game Viewing Along the River
Spend today in search of wildlife by 4x4 vehicle or cruising along the Chobe River, watching the elephants cooling off in the rushing waters. The park is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa, estimated to be a staggering 120,000. There is also an abundance of hippos, buffalo and impalas, as well as a variety of birds and a large population of lions.
Livingstone, Zambia | Sundowner Cruise
This morning, bid farewell to your camp staff as you depart Chobe and travel by road to visit Victoria Falls, crossing the border into Zimbabwe. The incredible falls extend more than a mile across and plummet 354 feet to cast up the mist that inspired their original name, Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke That Thunders”). Continue to Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma in Zambia, where you stay in a luxury tree house, built into the riverside canopy. At twilight, take a sundowner cruise, sipping cocktails and gazing out across a verdant and teeming vista set against the boundless African sky.
Livingstone | Victoria Falls
Begin the day with a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls from the Zambian side. Get a closer view of the mighty Zambezi River as it cascades over the edge of an impressive 1.2-mile-wide basalt lip. Afterward, peruse local crafts and excellent woodcarvings on a visit to a local market. This afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer. Explore the game-rich Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park with a professional guide, or visit Nakatindi Village and provide support for the community’s school and clinic, two projects assisted by A&K Philanthropy.
