SUNDAY
Meet in Paris and then drive to luxurious 'C’est la Vie,' moored in the hamlet of Les Fouchards, six miles from Sancerre. After a welcome reception and crew introductions, settle into your spacious cabin before a gourmet dinner on board.
MONDAY
Cruise to the village of Beaulieu this morning. After lunch on board, disembark for a short drive through local vineyards to visit to the fortified town of Sancerre, where you will enjoy a private wine tasting of the region's famous Sauvignon Blanc. Take in panoramic views over the Loire River and the neighboring vineyards of Pouilly Fumé from this medieval hilltop village.
TUESDAY
Cruise to Ouzouer-sur-Trézée, crossing over the Loire River at Briare on the famous 19th-century canal bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel. Then visit Château de Saint-Fargeau. Dating from the 10th century, it was built by the Bishop of Auxerre and has undergone many additions and restorations over the centuries. Tonight, enjoy dinner ashore at one of the finest restaurants in the region.
WEDNESDAY
Drive to the town of Gien, the world-famous center for French faïence (tableware). After an opportunity to look over its renowned pottery, walk through this market town and discover its remarkable history. After lunch on board, cruise to the town of Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses to see an amazing staircase of seven locks dating from the 16th-century reign of Henry IV.
THURSDAY
Enjoy a leisurely cruise to Montbouy this morning. Then, visit Château de la Bussière with its works of art and wonderful gardens. Return to the barge with time to relax before dinner.
FRIDAY
Cruise to Montargis today — with its many canals and 131 bridges, it is often called a "Little Venice." Take a stroll to discover the feudal castle and half-timbered buildings. Perhaps stop to enjoy one of the town's famous pralines. Return to the barge for a gala Captain's dinner tonight.
SATURDAY
After breakfast, transfer back to Paris, arriving in late morning.
