Dine onboard, with the opportunity afterward to explore Strasbourg by night.
Go ashore this morning for a guided walking tour of Strasbourg. Visit the soaring, red Vosges sandstone cathedral, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the botanical garden, which is home to nearly 6,000 plant species. Return to the barge for lunch and cruise to Hochfelden on the picturesque Marne au Rhin Canal.
Visit Meteor Brewery — family owned for seven generations — for a guided tour, and then sample some of the 12 beers crafted on site. Return to the barge for lunch and enjoy an afternoon cruise to Saverne, former headquarters of the Prince-Bishops. This evening, attend an elegant cocktail reception held in the gardens of 18th-century Château des Rohan. Back on board, gather for an epicurean dinner.
Begin your day exploring part of the famous Route des Vins, visiting generations-old Domaine Mochel for a guided tour and a tasting of the finest labels produced by this family-owned winery. After lunch on board, cruise to Lutzelbourg, watching the landscape change as you sail through the Vosges Mountains. Dine privately ashore this evening at the Michelin-starred Villa René Lalique, a restaurant in the former country home of the visionary art deco jeweler and glassmaker.
Go ashore to visit Lutzelbourg Castle, set on a promontory high above the canal, where you enjoy a morning-tea picnic and spectacular views. Return to your barge for lunch and enjoy the afternoon cruising to Arzviller, where you moor and view the famous Arzviller Boat Lift, a 147-foot-high engineering marvel. On board this evening, toast the end of a memorable cruise at the Captain's Farewell Dinner.
Disembark after breakfast and return to Strasbourg for your train ride back to Paris, completing your marvelous journey.
