Visit Luxembourg's 1,000-year-old capital city with its cobbled streets and imposing fortress walls. Set between the deep gorges of the Alzette and Pétrusse Rivers, it is one of Europe's most scenic capitals and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1994.
Cruise to Trier, quite possibly Germany's oldest town. The remarkable collection of Roman ruins here is another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the magnificent Cathedral of St. Peter, 13th-century Church of Our Lady and the old city gate of Port Nigra – or browse in the town's many shops.
Continue cruising along the Moselle to Zell, a famous wine town that is one of the most beautiful on the river. After a visit to the family-run cellars of Franz Josef Weis for a tasting, there is time to explore the town.
Moor in Cochem, situated along one of the most romantic parts of the Moselle Valley. Enjoy an excursion to Castle Burg Eltz, known as the "queen of German castles," having survived virtually intact since the Middle Ages.
A final cruise to Koblenz at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine Rivers. An ancient city, Koblenz has a history dating back 2,000 years. Stroll its charming lanes and squares, perhaps stopping at one of its popular wine taverns. Return to the barge for a festive dinner this evening to celebrate the cruise week.
After breakfast, the program concludes with transfer to a central Frankfurt location.
Route runs in reverse on alternate weeks and may differ on selected cruise dates.
