“There is nothing like photographing Antarctica,” says professional photographer and A&K Photo Coach, Richard Harker, now well into his second decade of Antarctic expedition cruising. “It has incredible variety, you never know what you’re going to see and you are immersed in wildlife.” In his own words, Richard shared three favorite photos and the stories behind each.

When I was the director of the museum at South Georgia, I used to weed Ernest Shackleton’s grave. When we visit Grytviken with A&K guests and come ashore, we go out to the cemetery where he’s buried and I lead a toast to “The Boss.”
