Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Antalya and transfer to Aspendos, home of the best- preserved antique theater and a stunning Roman-era aqueduct. Later, check in to your hotel, located on the Turkish Riviera.

Day 2

If you choose, take an optional hike up to ancient Termessos, an entire ancient city mentioned in the Iliad, before your scheduled sightseeing to Perge, where you explore the ruins of this city that dates to the Copper Age (fifth millennium BC). One of the most renowned art schools of classical age, Perge’s ruins include an intact ancient theater, stadium, bath house, mile-long colonnaded street and a large agora (gathering place). Afterward, continue to the Antalya Museum to see its archaeological exhibit. Your afternoon is at leisure to relax or continue exploring.

Day 3

Drive across the Taurus Mountains to Dalyan. Continue to Iztuzu Beach and board an African Queen-style boat ride through the reed beds to Caunos, a former seaport. The impressive ruins here include fifth-century BC royal tombs carved right into the cliffs. Return to the seashore and the beach, where sea turtles nest. Spend the evening at a lovely boutique hotel in the village of Akkoy, where your host is a gourmet chef.

Transfer to the nearby Dalaman Airport to board your onward flight.
