Day 1: ARRIVE WARSAW, POLAND

Arrive in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. Gather this evening for a welcome briefing followed by dinner.

Day 2: WARSAW / Baroque Highlights

This morning, set out for a guided tour of Warsaw's highlights, including the 14th-century Cathedral of Saint John and the Royal Castle, a symbol of Polish statehood. After lunch, visit Wilanow Palace and Gardens, the former Polish royal residence. Explore the city at your leisure this afternoon.

Day 3: WARSAW / History of Resistance

This morning, visit the Rising Museum, which commemorates the Polish resistance to Nazi occupation. Enjoy lunch and an afternoon on your own. Tonight, enjoy a private piano performance with a glass of sparkling wine at the Szuster Palace.

Day 4: CZESTOCHOWA / Icon of the Madonna

Drive to Czestochowa, where you visit the monastery of Jasna Gora, home of the Black Madonna, a painting that has drawn countless reverent visitors over the centuries. After lunch, proceed to Krakow and check in to your hotel. This evening, dinner is paired with a presentation of traditional Polish music and dance.

Day 5: KRAKOW / Stunning Salt Caverns

This morning, explore Krakow, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities of Eastern Europe. Its centerpiece is the magnificent Market Square, the largest of its kind in Europe. You may also enjoy a visit to St. Mary's Church with its famous Baroque 15th-century altar. After lunch at a local restaurant, explore the remarkable Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most stunning sites in Europe. Descend 150 feet by private elevator and explore the network of chambers and lakes that have been carved out over the centuries.

Day 6: AUSCHWITZ / Echoes of the Holocaust

This morning, visit the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, preserved as a memorial for the 1.5 million people of 28 nationalities who perished here. Explore the stone buildings of Auschwitz with your specialist guide, who brings to life the everyday horrors experienced by those who were brought here. Return to your hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 7: OLOMOUC, CZECH REPUBLIC / Historic City

Depart Krakow for the historic riverside town of Olomouc for a short walking tour; its Holy Trinity Column is a spectacular Baroque monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Prague.

Day 8: PRAGUE / Jewish Quarter & Town Hall

Visit the Jewish Museum, home of Europe's largest collection of Judaica, and the Jewish Cemetery. Explore Old Town; the Jewish Quarter, birthplace of Franz Kafka; and Old Town Square's Gothic Town Hall with its fascinating astronomical clock. Later, enjoy a sample and tour at Staropramen Brewery, the second largest in the country.

Day 9: PRAGUE / Baroque & Gothic Treasures
