Day 2: Buenos Aires/Ushuaia | Tierra del Fuego

Explore Buenos Aires in the company of your expert Resident Tour Director. Visit the Plaza de Mayo, pass through the San Telmo neighborhood, continue to La Boca and walk along Caminito Street. After a light lunch, visit La Recoleta Cemetery, last resting place of Eva Perón. Then, fly south to Ushuaia — set in magnificent Tierra del Fuego, at the remote tip of South America. Day 3: Ushuaia | Walking Among Magellanic Penguins

Drive to Estancia Harberton, the oldest estancia (farm) in Tierra del Fuego and an Argentine National Historical Monument. Embark on a private sail to Isla Martillo to walk among a teeming rookery of Magellanic penguins before continuing to Gable Island, in the middle of the Beagle Channel, for lunch. Relax and embrace the solitude of its remote, primal landscape, where wind, waves and birds make the only sounds. After lunch, sail back to Harberton and return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 4: El Calafate | Gateway to the Glaciers

Enjoy a morning at leisure to relax at your hotel or explore downtown Ushuaia. Your local guide also leads a short walk through Reserva Natural Cerro Alarkén, along one of the area’s fascinating hiking trails. Your hotel, Arakur Ushuaia, is the starting point for the trails that run through the reserve, an area devoted to the preservation of native forests of lengas, ñires and coihues, and of various species of flora and fauna typical of the region. This afternoon, fly to El Calafate to experience Patagonian rural life. After settling into your hotel, take a gentle hike to the Flamingo Lagoon and admire the stunning views while toasting your Patagonian adventure on a Scenic Sundowner. Tonight, dine at your hotel.

Day 5: El Calafate | An Astonishing, Icy Spectacle

Today, visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few remaining advancing glaciers in the world. Hike at your own pace and ability along the seven walkways located at different heights and distances from the glacier, each with magnificent views of the glacier’s northern and southern faces. After lunch, cruise the lake and watch for ice calving from the glacier face, before returning to your hotel.

Choose from a wide range of exclusive expeditions and activities offered by The Singular Patagonia, such as horseback riding, trekking, kayaking and mountain biking. Day 7: Puerto Natales | Torres del Paine National Park

Today, enjoy time at leisure to explore the magnificent wilderness area of Torres del Paine National Park. This park was created by tectonic movements — the last ice age formed its rugged landscape and the motion of glaciers have continued to reshape it. Large glaciers continue to descend from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, one of the world’s largest freshwater reserves. A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the park is renowned for its otherworldly landscape of granite spires, ice and deserted pampas. See firsthand how the jagged granite ridges and spires of the Torres del Paine mountains are magnificently serrated. Watch closely as you scan the peaks and you might pick out a soaring Andean condor riding an updraft, its ten-foot wingspan outspread. Tonight, after dinner, simply unwind in your room after your day of adventure, or, if the sky is clear, step outside for some impromptu stargazing, marveling at the ink-black Patagonian night sky awash with countless pinpoints of starlight.

Day 8: Puerto Natales | Patagonian Fjords

Spend your day at leisure and choose from a variety of optional excursions. Depending on weather conditions, opt for a sail through the Patagonian Fjords, reaching Seno de Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope Fjord) and visiting Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. Begin your journey with an hour-long cruise to observe colonies of blue-eyed cormorants and sea lions. Disembark in Puerto Toro (Bernardo O´Higgins National Park), and hike to the mirador (viewpoint) overlooking Serrano Glacier, which borders a lagoon with icebergs that come from the base of the glacier. Next, sail to the end of Seno de Ultima Esperanza, and the outlet of Lago Azul. If the tidal conditions allow, disembark on the beach to observe the abundant, pristine vegetation that surrounds Mount Balmaceda. Tonight, join your Resident Tour Director and fellow guests for a farewell dinner with superb Chilean wines.

Day 10: Depart Santiago

Explore Santiago during a morning tour of city highlights, including the Palacio de La Moneda Presidential Palace, designed by 18th-century Italian architect Joaquín Toesca, and the Plaza de Armas, with its impressive Cathedral and Central Post Office. Ride a funicular up San Cristobal Hill to behold the stunning statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and take in expansive views of Santiago. Relax this afternoon with privileged late access of your room, before you transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
