Days 4-5: The Cotswolds | Into the Countryside

Transfer to the bucolic countryside of the Cotswolds, where you check in to your hotel in the spa town of Cheltenham. Spend the afternoon at leisure. The next day, choose between two equally fascinating experiences. You may meet your driver and embark on a full-day tour of the Cotswolds and Warwickshire, passing through quaint, picturesque villages lined with honey-colored stone buildings. Then, visit the market town of Stratford, where you visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare. In nearby Shottery, see Anne Hathaway’s cottage and, if you wish, Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare was laid to rest. Then, regroup over traditional afternoon tea before returning to your hotel. Alternately, choose to explore the scenic villages and rambling landscapes of the Cotswolds, stopping in Broadway to see its organic farm shops and traditional pubs. Proceed to the “Venice of the Cotswolds,” Bourton-on-the-Water, which is crisscrossed with pedestrian bridges. End the day with a tasting and tour at a local gin and whiskey distillery before returning to your hotel.

Day 6: Bath | Impressive Architecture

Set out to explore the beautiful Georgian city of Bath. Tour the well-preserved Roman baths and see the Circus and the Royal Crescent, with time to admire the town’s grand Palladian architecture. You may also visit Jane Austen’s House Museum, taking in its period costumes, maps and books. Following your full day’s touring return to your accommodation in Cheltenham for an evening at leisure.
