Day 2: Buenos Aires | Dancing the Tango
Explore the romantic city of Buenos Aires, seeing its Plaza Mayor, the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the Cathedral Metropolitan. Stroll through the lovely parks and gardens of Palermo and discover the old quarters of San Telmo; the bustling banking and business center; and the colorful La Boca district. This evening, take a tango lesson at Café de los Angelitos, followed by dinner and a tango performance, enjoyed from the comfort of a VIP area.

Days 3-4: Iguazu Falls | Plummeting Falls
Fly to Iguazu Falls at the border of Brazil and Argentina, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. The falls are situated in lush Iguazu National Park and feature a breathtaking 275 cascades that spread across a gulf of nearly two miles. The sprawling forest is home to plentiful wildlife, such as macaws, toucans, monkeys and crocodiles. Spend the day at leisure. The next day, explore the Argentine side of the park, taking note of the verdant flora, butterflies and exotic birds along paths that lead to the spectacular falls. Then, board a shuttle train to Devil’s Throat. Venture onto a catwalk that extends 3,600 feet over the roiling cataract above the tropical basin of Devil’s Gorge.

Days 5-6: Salta | Stunning Salt Flats
Fly to Salta, gateway to the Columbian civilizations and the region’s Spanish colonial past. On arrival, embark on a guided tour of the elevated town, seeing San Francisco Church, the Cathedral, the San Bernardo Convent and Church and the Archeology Museum of High Altitude. Proceed to San Lorenzo, where the pivotal Battle of San Lorenzo took place. The next day, set out to see the breathtaking Great Salt Flats, witnessing peaks covered in eternal snows, black volcanoes, vast seas of salt and lakes full of flamingos and vicuñas. You may mountain bike around the flats and pools. Then, visit colorful Purmamarca, seeing its picturesque square and streets, which appear all-but-frozen in time.

Days 7-8: Cafayate | Nature Meets History
Transfer to Cafayate, a region rich in pre-Inca and colonial history. En route, take note of the stunning rock formations — including Quebrada de las Conchas — and villages, filled with clay brick houses with straw roofs. Cafayate — perched 5,250 feet above sea level — is known for fruity Torrontes wine. Visit the Cathedral, the flower-frocked main square, the picturesque stone mill and the wine museums. Pause to sample wines at local wineries. Spend the next day enjoying your resort’s facilities, or opt to visit the ruins of Quilmes.

Day 9: Depart Buenos Aires
Transfer to the Salta airport and fly to Buenos Aires, where you board your international flight home.
