Day 1: Arrive Reykjavik, Iceland
Upon arrival in Reykjavik, you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Days 2-3: Reykjavik | City & Wilderness
Visit a local artisan, who specializes in crafting knife and dagger blades. As you learn about this craft, gain insight into the local history and tradition of the blade, which dates back to pre-Viking times. Continue to the National Museum of Iceland, seeing its enlightening permanent exhibition, “Making of a Nation – Heritage and History in Iceland.” Peruse its extensive collection of photographs and objects spanning Settlement Age to the present day. Later, visit the unique Hallgrimkirkja Church, and browse boutique shops in the Skolavordustigur shopping area. The following day, head north to visit natural hot springs, including Deildartunguhver, as well as scenic of Hraunfossar (Lava Falls) and Barnafoss (Children’s Falls). Continue your exploration on Europe’s second largest glacier, Langjokull, which you reach by an eight-wheel truck. Venture inside via man-made tunnels to see magnificent blue ice that lies deep beneath the surface. Return to your hotel in Reykjavik.

Days 4-5: Southern Iceland | Natural Splendors
Begin your full day of touring as you depart from Reykjavik to visit Thingvellir National Park. Thingvellir is notable as the site where the Vikings established the first Parliament, now the oldest working Parliament in the world. Take in the natural beauty of the park before continuing to Fridheimer, where you enjoy a unique lunch prepared with tomatoes from the on-site greenhouse. Then, drive to the Strokkur geyser to see it erupt. If you don’t get a photo on the first try, don’t lose heart — the geyser erupts every five minutes. Also, visit Gullfoss waterfall. Check in to your hotel. The next day, depart by super-Jeep to Thórsmörk (the woods of Thor), navigating through breathtaking terrain and fording several streams en route to the nature reserve. There, the glaciers tumble and crawl down into the gullies, some of them ending in spectacular glacial lagoons. Take in the beauty of this tranquil place, while surrounded by volcanoes, glaciers and humming brooks.

Day 6: Reykjavik | Nature’s Beauty
Drive along the island’s south shore, marveling at the rugged landscape. Witness picturesque waterfalls, black sand beaches and strange lava formations, and pause at the Skogar Museum to learn about Icelandic architectural history — from a traditional turf farmhouse to a hydro-electric plant. Return to Reykjavik and check in to your hotel.

Day 7: Depart Reykjavik
Take a dip in the warm Blue Lagoon, a natural geothermal spa surrounded by lava fields and black sand beaches. Then, transfer to the airport and board your homebound flight.
