Day 1: Arrive Cape Town, South Africa
Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to your luxurious hotel on the Victoria & Alfred waterfront.
Day 2: Cape Town | Flat-Topped Mountain
Wind your way through the scenic, shrub-dotted landscape to Table Mountain; ascend to its sky-high plateau by cable car (weather permitting) for dazzling views of city and sea. Next, venture to old Cape Town with views of notable buildings, including Groote Kerk (South Africa’s oldest church), City Hall and the Grand Parade. Continue to the pentagonal Castle of Good Hope. Built by the Dutch East India Company as a maritime refreshment station, it later became the center of military life in the Cape. End your exploration at the bustling Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, which is built around the working harbor.

Days 3-4: Cape Town | Breathtaking Coast
Discover Cape Point, the mountainous, scenic promontory at the southwestern tip of the continent. Embark on a journey past the “bikini beaches” at the base of the towering Twelve Apostles Mountains. Drive past bucolic Hout Bay with its bustling fishing harbor, continuing over famous Chapman’s Peak Drive. Explore the stunning Cape Peninsula and Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to rare bonteboks, chacma baboons and several endemic plant species not found elsewhere. Ride the “Flying Dutchman” funicular to the great pinnacle at blustery Cape Point, which presides over treacherous reefs, sandy beaches and — from July to November — breathtaking views of Southern right whales. At Boulders Beach, visit a colony of endangered African penguins; accustomed to humans, they provide endless photo opportunities. Continue to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden alongside a private local guide. Spend the following day at leisure, enjoying your hotel or exploring the city’s harbor and boutique shops. Take time to dine at some of the city’s world-class restaurants as well.

Days 5-7: Garden Route | Scenic Splendor
Following breakfast, fly to George and transfer overland to your hotel along the Garden Route. It features views of the sea, mountains and golden sand. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure and the following days exploring the Garden Route and its surrounds, beginning with a private tour of Featherbed Nature Reserve. A unique, 370-acre private nature reserve, it is home to the Knysna Loerie and the Blue Duiker, one of Africa's smallest antelope species. Other resident wildlife includes Cape Mountain tortoises, blue cranes (South Africa's national bird), endangered Black African Oyster Catchers, White-Breasted cormorants and bushbucks.

Day 8: Madikwe Game Reserve | Untouched Landscape
Fly to Madikwe Game Reserve via Johannesburg. Named after the highly endangered African wild dog, which may be spotted in the surrounding landscape, your secluded lodge is situated on private land within wildlife-rich reserve. Take in the beauty if its lush riverside forest, dramatically perched on the edge of a ravine. This evening, enjoy dinner at the lodge’s outdoor boma.

Days 9-10: Madikwe Game Reserve | Along the Kalahari
Spend the next two days partaking in game drives and guided walks in the Madikwe Game Reserve. The reserve lies on the edges of the Kalahari, where the “Big Five,”over 300 resident and migrant birds, numerous rare species and rare African wild dogs reside.

Day 11: Depart Johannesburg
