Day 1: Arrive Budapest, Hungary

Arrive in Budapest and meet your A&K representative. This evening, gather with fellow guests at a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Budapest / Old World Splendors

Ascend Castle Hill, where the former Royal Palace gracefully towers over the Danube. Visit the Matthias Church, where many Hungarian kings have been crowned, and enjoy the stunning views of the city and river from the Fisherman’s Bastion. After lunch, stop at the Dohány Street Synagogue, Heroes’ Square and St.Stephen’s Basilica.

Day 3: Budapest / Danube Twilight Cruise

Privately tour the State Opera House and later, visit Pest’s Central Market Hall. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore on your own. This evening, enjoy a relaxing private cruise along the Danube, as your local guide shares tales of personalities from Hungarian history.

Day 4: Vienna, Austria / Presidential Palace

Travel to Vienna in the morning, enjoying lunch at a historic Viennese café. Embark on a walking tour of this elegant, multicultural city, stopping to visit the Imperial Treasury in the Hofburg Palace, the official residence and workplace of the President of Austria.

Day 5: Vienna / Home of the Habsburgs

Start the day with a tour of stunning, glamorous Schönbrunn Palace, followed by a Culinary Connection in which you partake in an apple strudel baking lesson and tasting with a professional pastry chef. In the afternoon, explore this fabulous imperial city at your own pace.

Day 6: Vienna / A Moving Musical History

Make an authentic Musical Connection when you join violist Edward Kudlak, former member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, for a lecture on Vienna’s incomparable musical heritage. Later, enjoy a private Viennese waltz lesson in one of the city’s most prestigious dance schools.

Day 7: Prague, Czech Republic / Český Krumlov

Journey to Prague, stopping en route in Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a short walking tour of the Old Town. Visit a traditional brewery where you also enjoy lunch. Continue to Prague.

Day 8: Prague / Exploring the Old Town

Walk the cobbled streets of the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter, birthplace of Franz Kafka. See the Gothic Town Hall in Old Town Square, famous for its astronomical clock. Visit the Jewish Museum, which houses the largest collection of Judaica in Europe, along with the Jewish Cemetery. Later, travel to the small hamlet of Nizbor, where you learn how Bohemian crystal is made. Return to Prague.

Day 9: Prague / Grandeurs on the Hilltop

Rise for a lovely morning tour of Prague’s Castle District and the gloriously Baroque Strahov Monastery, where you take a private tour of the ornate library. Step inside the remarkably storied St. Vitus Cathedral before visiting the Basilica of St. George and Hradcany Castle. See more during an afternoon at leisure, then gather tonight for a farewell dinner.
