Day 1: Arrive in Zagreb, Croatia

Day 2: Zagreb / The Stately Capital
This morning, take a panoramic tour of the Croatian capital. Drive past the National Theatre, Miramar Museum and Academy of Arts and Sciences, and then walk among the loveliest parts of Zagreb, including St. Marc Square. Ride a funicular, built in 1889, to reach the charming Upper Town quarter from Lower Town. Visit the Ban Jelačić Square, which divides the old and new regions of the city. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore your favorite parts of the capital.

Day 3: Split / Plitvice Lakes
Drive to the coastal city of Split. En route, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Plitvice Lakes, where emerald forests surround 16 shimmering turquoise lakes linked by a series of breathtaking waterfalls. Enjoy lunch in this spectacularly scenic region before continuing to Split.

Day 4: Split / The Emperor’s Palace
Set off on a morning walking tour of Split, starting with the Palace of the Emperor Diocletian; Peristil Square, where he made speeches; and his mausoleum, now a church. Take a private tour of the Ivan Mestrović Gallery alongside its curator. Marvel at the 86 bronze, marble and wood sculptures fashioned by this talented artist. Enjoy an afternoon to explore more of captivating Split at leisure.

Day 5: Brač / Source of Stone for the White House
Board a ferry to Brač, a Dalmatian island famous for its stone, used in Split’s Diocletian Palace and the White House in Washington, D.C. Visit Skrip, the oldest village on the island, and the Museum of Brač. Stop at a traditional restaurant for lunch, sampling local specialties of lamb, cheese, olives and wine before returning by ferry to Split.

Day 6: Dubrovnik / The Culinary Road
Set out for Dubrovnik, stopping at Ston, world-renowned for its oysters. Meet a local fisherman and sample one of these tasty delights paired with a local wine for a true Culinary Connection. Complete a superb lunch at a local seafood restaurant before continuing on to Dubrovnik.

Day 7: Kotor, Montenegro / Seaside Charms
Spend the day in marvelous Montenegro. Begin with a drive to Boka Kotorska, Europe’s southernmost fjord, where precipitous mountains rise from azure waters, and where you take a boat to the Baroque Church of Our Lady of the Rocks. After lunch, visit the walled city of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exploring its 12th-century Cathedral and Maritime Museum. Return to Dubrovnik.

Day 8: Dubrovnik / The City Museum
Enjoy a morning tour of Dubrovnik. Proclaimed a “city museum” by UNESCO, the Old Town is surrounded by impressive medieval stone walls and towers. Mingle with local traders and craftspeople in its markets. Then, listen as a survivor of the Balkan War shares memories of the conflict, for a very special Neighborhood Connection. Follow an afternoon at leisure and a farewell dinner tonight with a traditional klapa performance, arranged just for you.
