Day 1: Arrive in Barcelona

Day 2: Barcelona / Heart of Catalonia
Discover vibrant Barcelona as you explore the Boquería, one of Europe’s finest food markets. Walk the cobblestone streets of the Gothic Quarter and tour the fantastic Palau de la Música Catalana concert hall. Then, sample olive oils at a tasting. Enjoy more of this captivating city with an afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: Granada / The Edge of Andalusia
Embark on a panoramic tour of culture-driven Barcelona. See hilltop Montjuïc with its sculptural gardens and castle before stopping at Antoni Gaudí’s most notable creations, including the wild Sagrada Familia Basilica. Later, fly to Granada, Andalusia’s hippest city, where you are welcomed with dinner on arrival.

Day 4: Marbella / Historic Málaga
Visit the Alhambra, one of the most beautiful examples of Islamic architecture in the world. In the afternoon, depart for Marbella, the finest resort on the southern coast of Spain. Stop en route in Málaga to visit the beautifully restored historic center and the Picasso Museum.

Day 5: Gibraltar, United Kingdom / Last Outpost
Travel west to the Rock of Gibraltar, visiting St. Michael’s Cave and observing Gibraltar’s Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys in Europe. Return to Marbella and explore its shops and restaurants at your leisure.

Day 6: Seville / Ronda and Jerez
Journey into the heart of Andalusia, first up the winding hills to Ronda, one the most beautiful “white villages” in all of Spain. Travel through the mountains to Jerez, home of golden sherry, where you visit a bodega to learn about sherry and taste its different varieties. Continue to Seville, where you and your fellow guests embark on an evening tapas tour through some of the city’s finest taverns as part of an A&K Culinary Connection.

Day 7: Seville / Sunny Santa Cruz
Explore the sites in this uniquely lovely city: the Royal Palace of the Alcázar, the enormous Gothic cathedral and, of course, the flower-filled Santa Cruz district. The afternoon is at leisure to venture out on your own. Tonight, celebrate a Musical Connection when you ride a horse-drawn carriage to a palace, where the owners host your private dinner. Then, enjoy a performance of flamenco dancing and singing on the patio of this historic home.

Day 8: Córdoba / Streets of Flowers
Set out for Córdoba to visit the extraordinary Mezquita, the cathedral and former great mosque of Córdoba, and walk the city’s flower-lined streets. Later in the afternoon, board your high-speed AVE train to Madrid.

Day 9: Madrid / Masterful Art & Architecture
View works by the great Spanish masters El Greco, Velázquez and Goya in the Prado Museum. Then, visit the Royal Palace, followed by a short walk to the Plaza Mayor, and the marvelous iron-and-glass San Miguel market, where locals have been hawking and buying since the early 19th century. Later, join your Tour Director for a farewell dinner.
