Edinburgh & Stirlingshire
Days: 4 | From: $2,795
Day 1: Arrive in Edinburgh
Meet your Guardian Angel and transfer to your hotel, where the remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 2: Scottish Strongholds
Head to Edinburgh Castle with your local guide, who shows you the Scottish Crown Jewels. Drive down the Royal Mile, past St. Giles High Kirk, to Holyrood Palace, the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. Provided no member of the royal family is in residence at the time, you have a chance to tour the staterooms. Scotland is the home of whiskey, and you might want to participate in an optional private Whisky tasting at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. An expert on Scotch whisky will guide you through a tasting.
Day 3: Stirlingshire
Drive to the ancient stronghold of Stirlingshire, where Scotland’s destiny was formed. Here, the armies of William “Braveheart” Wallace defeated invading English forces in 1297. See its grand apartments and Great Hall as well as the majestic Stirling Castle and Chapel Royal, where Mary was crowned Queen of Scots. Continue to Bannockburn and the scenic mountains, forests and lakes of the Trossachs region, home of Rob Roy MacGregor. You may also view Loch Katrine from the decks of the historic SS Sir Walter Scott. Return to Edinburgh by late afternoon.
Day 4: Depart Edinburgh
Privately transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
