Day 1: Arrive in Basel, Switzerland

Arrive in Basel. Meet your A&K representative and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, joint your A&K Tour Director for a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Basel | Cruising the Rhine

Begin the day with a walking tour to the impressive Basel cathedral, local market gingerbread factory for a workshop tour and tasting. At mid-afternoon, board 'Amadeus Silver' with priority embarkation.

Day 3: Strasbourg, France | Europe’s Crossroads

Arrive in Strasbourg, the crossroads of Europe, seat of the European Parliament and the capital of France's Alsace region. Take a guided tour of great gothic cathedral with its lovely stained glass and fascinating astronomical clock, continuing to the city's historic center (or Grand Île), a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the "Petite France" district is found. This afternoon, you may take an optional excursion into the Alsace wine region for a tasting of local vintages.

Day 4: Speyer & Mannheim, Germany | A Step Back in Time

Take a guided walk in Speyer this morning, starting with its soaring, old city gate, part of the original fortification wall. Proceed to the imperial cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with an 11th-century stone foundation. This afternoon, you may choose to take a walking tour of the grid-like city of Mannheim or an excursion to the university town of Heidelberg on the banks of the River Neckar beside an old turreted bridge (Alte Brücke) at the foot of a picturesque, half-ruined castle.

Day 5: Rüdesheim & Koblenz | Exploring on Foot

Arrive in Rüdesheim this morning, and embark on a walking tour that includes a visit to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Museum. Back aboard ship, cruise one of the most scenic stretches of the Rhine, passing hilltop castles, terraced vineyards and picturesque riverside villages. By midday, you reach Koblenz at the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel Rivers. You may choose to explore on your own, or join the optional walking tour.

Day 6: Cochem | Local Vintages

Take a slight detour down the Moselle River and arrive in Cochem at noontime for an optional walking tour through the quaint town, where you explore its medieval gate and market, followed by a wine tasting at a local tavern. Alternately, you opt to explore the town at your leisure. Tonight, join fellow guests for a private pre-dinner cocktail party in the ship's Amadeus Club, hosted by your A&K Tour Director.

Day 7: Cologne | Center of Trade

Your ship docks at Cologne, an important trading center on the River Rhine for hundreds of years. Take a walking tour of the city, seeing it’s magnificent 13th-century cathedral, or choose to explore the city independently. This evening, your captain welcomes you to a gala dinner.

Day 8: Gouda, Netherlands | Epicenter Of Edibles

Today's excursion to Gouda is exclusive to A&K passengers. Visit De Waag, Gouda's 17th-century weigh house and a town landmark. Its museum is dedicated to local crafts, including cheese, candles and pipe-making. Stroll around the market square before returning to your boat for a final night on board.

Day 9: Amsterdam

Disembark and take a canal boat cruise through Amsterdam, followed by a visit to The Anne Frank House, where the celebrated young author wrote her World War II diary. Continue to the Diamond Museum with its glittering displays of priceless gems. Then, celebrate the journey with a special farewell dinner this evening.
