Day 1: Arrive Santiago, Chile

Embark on a city tour that includes a ride with the local Santiaguinos on their famed metro subway between the Plaza de Armas and the Fine Art Museum. Visit the De Martino winery for a private sampling and learn about Chilean cuisine from a local chef.

Day 3: Santiago/Puerto Montt/Puerto Varas | Wild Rapids

Fly to Puerto Montt to explore the Chilean Lake District, and then journey overland to the Petrohue Rapids, a breathtaking glacial river, and watch them crash through lava channels formed by the Osorno Volcano.

Day 4: Lake District/Bariloche, Argentina | Cross the Andes

Privately drive to Frutillar, a charming, German-style town, and then through pristine wilderness to lovely Villa La Angostura for lunch. Board your vessel on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi and sail to Bosque Los Arrayanes. Continue by catamaran to picturesque Bariloche.

Explore Bariloche, Argentina’s “Little Switzerland,” famous for its Alpine setting and the European roots of many residents. Visit Llao Llao Peninsula and Lopez Bay, and ride the Cerro Campanario chairlift for spectacular views.

Days 6-8: Buenos Aires | Teatro Colón and the Tango

Fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s remarkable capital, and check into your hotel in the fashionable Recoleta neighborhood. The next day, visit the Teatro Colón, considered one of the five best venues in the world for opera due to its stellar acoustics. Wander through the Recoleta Cemetery and see the memorial dedicated to Eva Peron. This evening, enjoy VIP seating at Esquina Carlos Gardel, an esteemed tango venue, for dinner and a show. Spend your final day here at leisure, enjoying the many amenities of your hotel or exploring exciting Buenos Aires on your own.

Day 9: Iguassu Falls | Enjoy the View from Both Sides

Fly to Iguassu Falls to view its 275 cascades, which extend nearly two miles, from both Brazil and Argentina. Explore the Argentine side of the park, walking trails above and along the falls. Then, board a train to famed Devil’s Throat, to traverse a scenic catwalk that stretches 3,600 feet over the tropical basin of the falls.
