Today ‘Anjodi’ ascends the seven locks at Fonserannes, continuing to the world’s oldest canal tunnel at Malpas. Visit Narbonne to see the fortress-like Archbishop’s Palace and explore the delightful indoor market. Visit the fascinating walled city of Carcassonne, the most complete medieval fortified city still in existence. The old town, called “La Cité,” looks much as it did in the Middle Ages. It is surrounded by a double circuit of walls and towers, and there is time to stroll the winding cobblestoned streets.
