The village, nestled in a loop of the River Serein, has many picturesque halftimbered houses and ancient cobbled streets. After lunch at a local auberge, return to ‘La Belle Époque’ for a lazy afternoon cruise past grazing white Charolais cattle.
'La Belle Époque' | Meals: B, L, DThere are good opportunities for walking or cycling along the towpath this morning as ‘La Belle Époque’ cruises past the gardens of 16th-century Château d’Ancy le Franc. After lunch, visit Château de Tanlay, home to the Marquis de Tanlay since the late 17th century. Built in Renaissance style, the château is known for its gallery that is painted in intricate trompe l’oeil style. Rejoin the barge for dinner on board.
