Connect With the Heart of Europe on an Abercrombie & Kent River Cruise Journey
Successful launch leads to increased departures, special World War II highlights cruise
Last year Abercrombie & Kent introduced Connections European River Cruise Journeys, small group holidays that reveallife in Europe at its most authentic. From sightseeing led by a resident A&K Tour Director for no more than 24 guests, to pre- and post-cruise city stays with exclusive experiences only available to A&K guests, Connections offers a personalized river cruise experience. Interest in this more intimate approach to river cruising has been so positive that A&K is adding departures and a new historical World War II journey for 2015.
“In honor of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, we’ve planned a special departure along the historic Rhine River, the war’s most strategic natural barrier,” explains Abercrombie & Kent USA President Phil Otterson. “We’ve developed several poignant shore excursions exclusively for A&K guests, including visits to sites of crucial bridgehead battles.”
A river cruise with Abercrombie & Kent is unlike any other. From start to finish, each journey is personally overseen by a resident A&K Tour Director, who brings decades, if not a lifetime, of experience and knowledge of the destination. Sightseeing is limited to just 24 guests in private vehicles, with expert local guides and exclusive A&K shore excursions. Onshore Connections, such as a private waltz lesson in Vienna, a private excursion to medieval Schloss Mespelbrunn or lunch with a local family on their farm in Provence, are available only to A&K guests.
Also unique to Connections River Cruise Journeys are city visits before and after cruising, allowing time to explore cultural hubs such as Amsterdam, Munich, Budapest and Paris. The small group size allows access to distinctive local accommodations, such as the centrally-located, historic Hotel Torbräu in Munich, not available to larger groups.
Authentic, engaging and backed by peerless local expertise, Connections European River Cruise Journeys by Abercrombie & Kent reveal the heart of each destination.
