Abercrombie & Kent’s 2015 Luxury Small Group Journeys

Authentic and Unmatched Local Experiences, Priced the Same or Less than 2014

Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent has created nine new Luxury Small Group Journeys for 2015 crafted by local experts in Myanmar, Southern Africa, Tanzania, Australia and New Zealand; and featuring new dedicated Family Journeys to India, China and Costa Rica. Whether a new itinerary or a guest favorite, each is designed to take guests beyond the guidebook with unmatched insider access to people and sites beyond the reach of most travellers – from a private Shaolin kung fu demonstration at the birthplace of the martial art, to dining with a family in their home in Bhutan.

“Working with Abercrombie & Kent’s network of 50 local offices, we have delivered a host of unforgettable new sites and experiences for 2015, including a cruise down Myanmar’s Irrawaddy River on the newly-christened ‘Sanctuary ‘Ananda,’ the most luxurious, all-balcony boat on the river,” says Abercrombie & Kent President Phil Otterson. “We are adding two new experiences to all journeys: Traveller’s Valet, complimentary mid-journey laundry service, and Scenic Sundowner, a chance to enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a spectacular view. Yet, even with all these innovations and enhancements, we’ve been able to keep many prices the same or less than 2014.”

JOURNEYS FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

As parents (and grandparents) look abroad for their next vacation, Abercrombie & Kent is increasing the Luxury Small Group Journeys designed just for families, while decreasing the child pricing. For 2015, guests may choose from eight Family Journeys to new destinations, such as India, and favorites like Alaska, Costa Rica, East Africa, China and the Galapagos, while enjoying significant savings of $800 per child under 12 on all international Family Journeys. In addition to entertaining activities such as cooking and language lessons and exotic wildlife encounters, Family departures feature a dedicated Young Explorers Guide to host programs specially designed for young guests to keep them engaged.

Following the successful launch of guaranteed group extensions two years ago, A&K is expanding the choices for 2015. Specially selected and priced to complement each small group journey, these extensions -- all of which are guaranteed to operate – let guests personalize their adventure.

“Today, nearly one in three guests chooses to extend their Luxury Small Group Journey, for example adding Mongolia to our ‘China & the Yangzi’ itinerary,” explained Otterson. “While on certain programs, such as ‘Bhutan & Nepal,’ about three-fourths of our guests continue on the group extension to Tibet.”

Each A&K Luxury Small Group Journey includes the best rooms at the best hotel at every stop along the way – whether a modern, five-star haven, a royal residence turned hotel or a boutique wilderness camp. The small group size of just 18 guests makes it possible to feature intimate, upscale lodgings and sites not available to larger groups. Private airport transfers on arrival and departure, Travelling Bell Boy® service to transfer luggage from hotel to hotel, and complimentary Internet access are all included. And every departure is guaranteed to operate with a minimum of two guests, escorted by a resident A&K Tour Director from start to finish.

“The intimate size of the tour made me feel like I was discovering it all for myself.” K.F.
