We are currently hiring for this position.


Responsible for selling and managing numerous air itineraries for select destinations, primarily international.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Work closely with Destination Specialists, Travel Agents and direct clients for coordination of air itineraries and to ensure that air is in agreement with the land itinerary. Reserve and manage air space in SABRE reservations system.
  • Effectively master working knowledge of multiple airline contracts. Communicate with department supervisor regarding any contractual changes and updates that need to be made in the computerized reservations system.
  • Collect payment from client and issue airline tickets by required ticket dates. Responsible for timely release of tickets to Operations for distribution to agents/direct clients.
  • Maintain all files and communicate schedule changes and fare increases/decreases with Destination Specialists and Operations staff in timely manner. Adjust air itineraries as required.
  • Prepare necessary ticket refunds and exchanges for weekly IAR reporting process.
  • Advise airlines of all special service requests such as wheelchair assistance, special meals, special seating and related preferences.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous alliance with airline representatives.
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Provide backup and relief to other Air Coordinators as required.
  • Participate in cross training on an ongoing basis.
  • Complete special projects or reports as assigned.
  • Perform all tasks in a timely, effective and professional manner in accordance with company policy and protocol.

Position located in Downers Grove, IL.

Education and Experience
  • 1-5 years appropriate industry experience required
  • Proficient on airline computer systems. (Sabre preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of international published and wholesale fare rules, fare breakdowns, pricing records and general international and domestic ticketing
Skill and Abilities
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English.
  • Must be proficient in basic computer operations.
  • Must be able to operate office telephone system.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong mathematic aptitude.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with demonstrated initiative and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to perform well under pressure and meet required deadlines.
  • Must be able to interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Must be flexible and have a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to easily adapt to new and changing procedures.
  • Must exhibit a proven ability to learn and efficiently use a proprietary computer software system.
  • Must have good destination knowledge.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be familiar with visas and other international travel documentation.
